El equipo de investigación de arte rupestre formado por los profesionales Ana Nieves (Northeastern Illinois University) y Gori Tumi Echevarría López (Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos - Asociación Peruana de Arte Rupestre), está evaluando la técnica de fotografía computacional llamada “Reflectance Transformation Imaging” en un sitio de quicas o arte rupestre en el Perú.  El proyecto, debidamente autorizado por la Dirección Regional de Cultura de Ica (parte del Ministerio Nacional de Cultura), se enfocará en un sitio del valle de Nasca llamado X02.  En este blog estaremos describiendo el proceso de la aplicación del RTI en los sitios peruanos (en español), además de crear un nuevo foro para discutir las quilcas o el arte rupestre y compartir información sobre sobre esta notable y muy valiosa evidencia cultural y los avances en su estudio.

Ana Nieves (Norhteastern Illinois University) and Gori Tumi Echevarría (Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos and the Peruvian Rock Art Association) are evaluating the use of Reflectance Transformation Imaging in a rock art ("quilcas") site in Peru.  The project, which was authorized by the Dirección Regional de Cultura de Ica (part of the Peruvian National Ministry of Culture) on July 16, 2012, will focus on a site in the Nasca Valley (X02).  We will describe the process in this blog, but we also want this blog to be a forum for the discussion of rock art.
